Notes: The 1870 census lists Anthony's first child Mary born in NY in 1852, the earliest date for him in the USA. His daughter Caroline was born in PA in 1857, Michael in 1959, and Louisa in 1961. Then Crescentia was born in Rolla MO in 1864. It is not known when Crescentia Stellwagen met & married Anthony Huber, nor if Crescentia is the mother of Mary, Caroline, Michael, & Louisa.

The Huber family home was in the eastern half of Lot #3 in Block #15 in Rolla MO. The family also owned 80 acres that encompassed the lands in the "NE quarter of the NW quarter of Section 15 Township 37 Range 8 West" and the "NW quarter of the NE quarter of Section 15 Township 37 Range 8 West". It was granted on 16 July 1866. Family memories say "Anthony had three cabins built along the railroad (rented two of them out) which was the beginnings of Rolla MO". In truth the first home was built in Rolla in 1844 and it became a township in 1858. So our Anthony Huber family was one of the earliest settlers of Rolla MO, first documented near Barry Co MO in 1863 selling liquor & retail items.

1870 US Census living in Rolla, Phelps Co, Missouri with wife & five kids.
1880 US Census living in Rolla, Phelps Co, Missouri with wife Crescentia, daughter Crescentia, & two adopted Fritterer boys from Baden Germany.

The Rolla Weekly Herald published his obituary on May 11, 1893 "Anthony Huber, an old and much respected citizen of this township, died last Thursday night at his home in Old Town, aged about 78 years. The remains were placed at rest in the Rolla Cemetery Saturday. S.M. White and family, of St. Louis, were here Friday, called by the death of Mrs. White's father, Mr. Huber." It is not known who S.M. White is, but it may be a sister or brother living in St Louis.
