Easiest Way to Identify a 1967: From the outside: VW 1600 L script on the left rear panel, thick tail light bases & inset rear lenses.
From the inside: Pseudo-wood grain dash, black rear view mirror head, & over the top ignition switch.
All 1967 models had: Dual-carb 1600cc engine, 12-Volt electrical system, black dash knobs, squared radio area, VW1600L rear script, thick tail light bases with inset lenses, single-handle inner door pulls, door locks on top rear edge of upper door pads, heater levers at e-brake base, black symmetrical rear view mirror head, rounded door panel trim, coil on the left side of the generator, & over-the-top ignition switch.
Color Combinations: Monotone was the standard paint scheme but two-tone could be special-ordered.
Seats were either leatherette with a color-matched inner vinyl basketweave section or leatherette with an inner cloth herringbone pattern.
Interior panels were solid monotone (one color) with four heat-seam lines, see colors in "Interior Panel Chart" section.
