Authenticity: Bumper Guards & License Lights

There are two different styles of bumper guards: pointed & rounded.

Early "Pointed" Guards
1962-65

Early "Pointed" Guards
1962-65

Late "Rounded" Guards
1966-69

The "pointed" guards are made of pot-metal (easily broken & difficult to rechrome) and have the mounting stud welded into the guard permanently. The "rounded" guards are made of pressed steel (stronger & easily rechromed) and have a threaded plate welded into the guard permanently to accept a separate long bolt.

Availability: the "rounded" guards are much easier to find NOS than the "pointed" guards. The "pointed" style is rarely seen and usually commands higher prices. Prices are typically $40-50 each for NOS ones. The T34 has four unique guards since the rear guards have holes for the license plate lights.

There are three different styles of license lights: logo, smooth, & ribbed.
