Authenticity: Shift Knobs
There are five different styles of shift knobs over the years.

Early Ivory Style Early-1962

Light Two-Tone Style Late-1962 thru early-1965

Dark Two-Tone Style mid-1965 thru 1966

Solid Black Domed Style 1966-69 manual shift

Standard Beetle Style 1968-69 automatic shift

There is still some confusion/uncertainty about when the light two-tone ends & the dark two-tone begins. It would seem to make sense that the change would have happened at the same time as the heater control cover plate turned from light gray to dark gray, thought to have been in mid-1965. If anyone has confirmation, please email Lee. And it appears that some 1966 T34s were fitted with the dark two-tone & some had solid black.
