Restoration: Annual Upholstery Options for 1962-64

This section is designed to provide original T34 upholstery options for each year to help owners reproduce their original style interior components. Wherever possible we've included all color options as well. If you have original upholstery images that may help others, please email high-resolution photos to LeeHedges@PureT34.org to make this section more complete.

Seat Upholstery: 1962-64 seats had two upholstery options: cloth & leatherette combination or solid leatherette. The unique patterned cloth was available in various colors to complement the body colors: Silver, Blue, Red, & Turquoise. This cloth material was combined with a smooth leatherette vinyl for a colorful two-toned look (early automotive journalists claimed it was garish). The cloth was fitted in the center of the front seats and all over the rear seat surfaces. A solid leatherette was also an option for those owners that wanted a monotone look. The center sections of the front seats had five heat-seams but the rear seat had no seams. The only exception was the black seats which were always solid black, not two-toned. There were four leatherette colors: silver-beige, ice-blue, light-beige, & black.
Interior Panels: The door panels were two-toned with the light-colored leatherette in the upper-half & the dark-colored leatherette or cloth in the lower-half. The only exception was the black panels which were always monotone. The map pockets had twelve pleats. The upper-half of the door panels had five heat-seams (which continued through 1966), and the quarter panels had five matching heat-seams.
Rear Parcel Shelf: The rear shelf was covered with matching leatherette vinyl to the light-colored seat material. The vinyl was glued onto a thick fiberboard with the vinyl rolled-over the rear edges near the rear window seal as well as rolled over the front edge of the shelf.
